Shanghai Green Power takes delivery of first out of 200 LNG-powered vessels

Jiangsu Otsu Heavy Construction, part of Shanghai Bestway Group, informed that it has delivered China’s first LNG-powered inland bulk carrier, the “Green 6002” to Shanghai Green Power.

Jiangsu Otsu Heavy Construction, part of Shanghai Bestway Group, informed that it has delivered China’s first LNG-powered inland bulk carrier, the “Green 6002” to Shanghai Green Power.

This is the first in the series of 200 vessels ordered at Otsu Heavy, namely a hundred 600 dwt vessels, fifty 800 dwt vessels and another fifty 1000 dwt vessels, according to the company.

There are currently more than 40 vessels under construction, and Otsu Heavy believes that by adopting the modular construction methods it will be able to deliver all 200 ships before the end of the year.

Value of the contract exceeds US$100 million.
