FES International has produced and delivered two automatic Diverless Bend Stiffener Connector (DBSC) units to Oceaneering which were installed at the Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited Kizomba Satellites Phase 2 development located off the Angolan shore, West Africa.

The automatic DBSCs are being used to connect the Umbilical Bend Stiffener (UBS) to the Floating, Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit.

The manufacture of the DBSCs was completed at FES International’s UK headquarters in Northumberland earlier this year.

As part of the deal with Oceaneering, FES was also contracted to provide onsite support for the connection of the male end fitting adaptor to the umbilicals, as well as technical offshore support during the installation of the DBSC.

Rob Anderson , managing director at FES International, said: “We were delighted when Oceaneering appointed us for this project and once again we have demonstrated our capabilities to deliver timely and flexible solutions on a global scale.

“This work is a great example of how our team of subsea engineering specialists become fully immersed in the project from start to finish providing installation and onsite support services.”
