Specialist Marine Consultants (SMC) Ltd has developed Atlas, a bespoke recording and tracking system to manage vessels and personnel during offshore construction projects.

The system has been designed by marine coordinators, using their experience in conjunction with customer feedback to shape the system to fit the exact requirements of the job. This ongoing process of organic development through continual feedback means the system offers the ultimate simple, efficient and safe system to manage vessels and personnel.

The Atlas system allows for collation of operational statistics, such as fuel usage, number of transfers, HSE statistics and carbon footprint, and a number of other features including:

The system has been shaped during daily use on 7 projects, and is currently being used by Siemens Wind Power on Baltic 2 and Butendiek in Germany.

SMC MD Ian Coates said: “Atlas is a totally fit-for-purpose system because it’s been developed by people who do the job daily and understand the requirements of the customer completely. Combined with our experienced marine coordinators, Atlas offers a first class solution.”
