Ampelmann, a Dutch company providing motion compensated access solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry, has appointed Jim Craig as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.

Craig brings more than 25 years of energy industry experience to this new role, having previously served as the managing director of Centrica Storage.

“I am delighted to take up my new role as CEO of Ampelmann,” Craig said. “Ampelmann has carried out over one million safe personnel transfers for customers worldwide and I look forward to working with our dedicated employees to further the company’s market leadership; continuing to deliver innovative solutions that help our customers operate more efficiently.”

Inventor and founder of Ampelmann, Jan van der Tempel, decided to step down from the CEO role to dedicate more time to teaching and technology development. He will continue his involvement as a member of the Supervisory Board of Ampelmann.

“For the last 12 years I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with a large variety of excellent people to develop the technology and company the world now knows as Ampelmann” , said Van der Tempel. “Growing a company as quickly as Ampelmann really is a fantastic experience and I am confident Jim will lead the organization to new heights.”
