The naming ceremony for the BlueTec floating tidal platform is scheduled for April 9, 2015, at the Port of Den Helder.
The platform includes Tocardo’s T1 tidal turbine with the capacity of 100 kW.
Shortly after the naming ceremony, it will be deployed off Texel island, and connected to the grid.
The BlueTEC Texel Tidal project is a collaboration by Bluewater, Damen/Niron Staal, Van Oord/Acta Marine, NIOZ, Nylacast, Schottel Hydro, Tidal Testing Centre, TKF, Tocardo and Vryhof Anchors.
