The Skandi Africa is a DP class 3 offshore subsea construction vessel, built for Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF and chartered by French contractor Technip.

The video shows VARD 3 12-design newbuild as it departs the shipyard at Vard Søviknes.

The vessel, build by VARD, arrived at the Huisman Schiedam quayside, at the end of March, for its final outfitting.

The ship will stay in the coming months on the quayside at Huisman for the installation of a 650mt Pipelay Tower, a 150mt Knuckleboom Crane and a 900mt Pedestal Mounted Crane.

The Skandi Africa is 160.9 meters long, has a 2.700 m2 deck area, under-deck storage capacity of 3,500 Te and two work-class ROVs rated for 4,000 m water depth.
