The UK’s South Hook import terminal is scheduled to receive a cargo of LNG from Qatar on April 17.

The cargo is being shipped to the 15.6 mtpa facility onboard the 210,000 cbm Al Ghariya LNG carrier, port data reveals.

The South Hook terminal can process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG a year and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.

The £1 billion LNG terminal received its first cargo of the chilled gas in March 2009, and was fully operational in April of 2010.

Qatar Petroleum owns 67.5 per cent of South Hook LNG Terminal Co, Exxon Mobil 24.15 percent and Total owns the rest.
