Newbuild seismic guard vessel MV 7-Stars was launched on April 10th in the Netherlands, Dolphin Geophysical informed through their social media.
Dolphin’s Vesla Groeneboom took position as Lady Sponsor of the vessel owned by Rederij Groen BV.
7-Stars was built in the Netherlands by Maaskant Shipyards, part of the Damen Group along with her sister vessels 7- Oceans and 7- Waves already in operation.
The main task of the vessels is to ensure that other shipping, mainly fishing ships, will keep distance from seismic survey vessels engaged in offshore exploration.
All three vessels have LOA of 35.00 m, beam of 8.70 m and are classed with Lloyd’s Register Ice class.
Dolphin agreed with Rederij Groen to take the vessels on long term charters.
