The US Department of Energy issued an order granting long-term, multi-contract authorization to export LNG to free trade agreement countries to Cameron LNG, from it’s terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
Cameron LNG filed an application with the DOE in December, 2014, seeking permission to export LNG produced from domestic sources in a volume up to 2.95 million metric tons per annum for a period of 20 years.
The grant of this order brings Cameron’s total authorized FTA export volume to 772 Bcf/y which is the maximum LNG production capacity of the Cameron terminal, DOE states in the order.
Cameron LNG expects to have the first liquefaction train completed and put into service in 2017 with second and third coming online in 2008 bringing the capacity up to 14,95 mtpa of LNG.
