A maintenance dredging program of the Chichester Marina approach channel has been set for this week, according to the Premier Marinas notice.

Dredging, to be undertaken by the 22m backhoe dredger Witton II, is expected to continue for three weeks, subject to weather. The dredged material will be disposed of at the Nab Tower Spoil Grounds.

The dredger will be towed to and from the site by the tug Wyeforce while the material dredged during the project will be transported for disposal in the 52m split hopper barge Split Three.

Dredging operations will take place during the 3-hours period either side of high water, and access may be restricted at times.

Between dredging operations the dredger will moor adjacent to the approach channel or inside the marina waiting pontoon. Split Three will wait inside the marina waiting pontoon or anchor in the Emsworth Channel, North of Mill Rythe.
