Peru’s only export terminal sent two cargoes of liquefied natural gas to Mexico, information from Perupetro reveals.

Chevron’s newbuild, 160,000 cbm Asia Excellence LNG carrier departed from Peru’s facility on April 16 and docked at Mexico’s Manzanillo terminal, shipping data reveals.

The second shipment is being transported onboard the 173 400 cbm Valencia Knutsen that set off from Peru on April 21, and is probably heading for the Manzanillo terminal, even though Perupetro did not reveal the exact destination of the vessel.

Peru’s facility has an estimated annual production capacity of 4.4 million tons of LNG. The complex also consists of two storage tanks, each with a capacity of 130,000 cubic meters of LNG, a marine terminal and a supply pipeline. The LNG plant is owned by Peru LNG and since the start of operations in June 2010 it has shipped 266 cargoes.
