Work in Beatrixhaven, the newest port basin in Eemshaven, has reached the completion phase, announced the Groningen Seaports. The heavy load quay is getting the finishing touches and dredging work is well on its way.

The level of the surrounding terrain has been raised with sand dredged from the port, and at the end of the port basin a turning basin has been completed.

It is expected that the extensive Beatrixhaven will be put into operation in the course of the second quarter of 2015.

The completion of Beatrixhaven means a further boost to Eemshaven as the center of the offshore wind industry.
