The Port of Koper, Slovenia, has released a tender for the second phase of dredging works in order to deepen the navigable channel and basin in the northern section of the harbor.

The tender also includes supply and installation of rubber fenders.

Last year, Dutch dredging contractor Van Oord successfully completed the first phase of the works and removed approximately 230,000 m³ of sea sediments (silt), allowing larger vessels with a draft of up to 13.5m to enter the port’s Northern part of Basin I.

With the second phase of dredging works, the port’s depth will be increased to 15m allowing it to handle even bigger ships.

The tender deadline is set for June 3rd 2015.
