General Dynamics NASSCO informed that it has installed the first of two LNG tanks on the second Marlin Class vessel for Tote.
The sister ship of the Isla Bella, the world’s first LNG-powered containership, is currently under construction at NASSCO shipyard in San Diego, the company informed in a statement.
It is the second 3,100 TEU LNG-powered containership designed by DSEC, a Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering unit for Tote. Both double-hulled ships include DSME’s patented LNG fuel-gas system and MAN ME-GI dual fuel slow speed engine.
Delivery of the second ship is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
