Drydocks World has secured a contract from Orwell Offshore to fabricate an external Turret for FPSO Layang.
The external turret for Orwell Offshore will enable Layang FPSO operations in water depths of up to 90m.
“Constructing this turret for Orwell offshore is a milestone in marking the next phase of turret development at Drydocks World and we look forward to working with Orwell Offshore again,” Drydocks World said in a press release.
The FPSO Layang, formerly Deep Producer 1, is contracted to JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Limited and will operate at the Layang field offshore Sarawak, Malaysia.
Layang Field is located approximately 8 km east of the producing Helang Gas Field in Block SK10. The commercial production from the field is expected to start in the second quarter of 2016.
