BW Pavilion Vanda LNG carrier is on its way to Belgium’s Zeebrugge LNG terminal with a Qatari cargo.
According to shipping data, the newly built 161,870 cbm LNG carrier took on its maiden load at Qatar’s Ras Laffan port and departed for Belgium on May 16. It is scheduled to dock at the Zeebrugge terminal’s jetty on June 4.
The Singapore-flagged vessel was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries for the BW Group and Pavilion Energy JV, the BW Pavilion LNG.
The Zeebrugge LNG terminal has an annual throughput capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas importing the liquefied natural gas mainly from Qatar. It can receive 110 carriers per year and serves as a gateway to supply LNG into Northwestern Europe.
The terminal consists of 4 LNG tanks totaling 380,00 cbm, a truck loading station, an existing jetty with one more jetty under construction and due to be completed this year.
