First Global Logistics and Europe Cargo, both members of Project Cargo Network, have recently collaborated on the project cargo shipment of a dredger and its equipment from Alexandria to Antwerp.

The dredger had finished its work at Sokhna Port and all the parts and equipment had to be shipped back to its final destination.

The project was divided into 2 jobs performed simultaneously in different ports of loading which was not an easy task.

The 1st job (via Grimaldi) took place at Alexandria Port and involved two buckets with dimensions of 4 x 4.7 x 3.4m (38,000kgs) and 3.8 x 4.6 x 2.7m (29,000kgs). The team at Alexandria port handled the lashing and securing of the cargo, wood fumigation and all operations and port handling.

The 2nd job (via Hamburg-Sud) took place at Dekheila port and involved: 2 Boom Cylinders (19,200kgs, 6.5 x 0.7m each); 8 Bucket Teeth (650kgs each); 1 Guiding Sheave (19,950kgs, 1.2 x 0.2m); and 1 Stick Cylinder (15,500kgs, 5 x 0.5m).

The cargo was loaded from low-bed trailers into 3 x 40′ open-top containers. The team at Dekheila Port handled the stuffing, lashing and securing of the cargo, fumigation inside the port and all operations and port handling.
