Sabella, a Frech tidal energy developer, has installed subsea power cable that will connect its D10 tidal turbine to the grid of Ushant island.

The cable laying operation started on Monday morning.

Burboun’s Argonaut tugboat was used to install 2 km of 7.5 kVA subsea cable.

The crew of approximately 20 people has participated in the cable laying procedure.

FMGC’s cast iron was used to protect and stabilize 200 m of cable close to the shore.

Sabella plans to deploy its D10 tidal turbine late in June.
