China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC), a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Ltd., has won its first dredging contract in Vietnam.

The company recently signed the agreement for the Lot 12 of the Duyen Hai power plant dredging project. The contract, worth approx $9 million, includes removal of over 2 million cubic meters of soil with the construction period of four months.

Dredging of the plant’s public channel will allow 30,000t ships to navigate the waters, promoting local economic development.

Being CHEC’s first dredging project in Vietnam, the project has created a favorable situation for CHEC to develop the Vietnamese dredging market.
