The submarine electric cable that will link Sabella D10 tidal turbine to Ushant island’s power grid has been installed.

The operation has been carried out between May 24th and 26th by BOURBON OFFSHORE SURF using the vessel L’Argonaute , a 69 meters long and 15 meters wide vessel usually used by French Navy for State missions at sea.

BOURBON’s teams onshore and onboard have been assisted by IXSURVEY, IROISE MER, SCAPH’EUSA and FMGC.

The installation of the turbine is planned during neap tide at the end of June, using a heavy lift vessel operated by Combi Lift. This vessel will also carry out the connecion between the turbine and the power cable, allowing the turbine to export electricity to Ushant island.
