Absoft, Aberdeen-based SAP provider for upstream oil and gas, has secured a contract with Total Exploration and Production UK Ltd, to provide SAP support services for their North Sea operations.

Absoft has revealed that they will under the 3-year agreement supply front office support at Total’s Aberdeen office in the UK, as well as provision of remote support services from Absoft’s SAP Partner Centre of Excellence.

The SAP support agreement covers key disciplines including: HR, finance, joint venture accounting, operations and maintenance, projects and supply chain management.

Total has also chosen Absoft’s NetWeaver® Managed Service offering, Absoft says. That is the SAP specialist’s flagship technical support solution, which enables Absoft consultants to assume responsibility for secured monitoring and patching TOTAL’s SAP system landscape.

Don Valentine, Commercial Director, Absoft, said: “As a consultancy, our business is completely dependent on the effectiveness of our people. Our ability to deliver a value added service is based upon establishing long term, and mutually beneficial relationships with our customers.”

“TOTAL and Absoft have worked together for many years, and we have jointly adapted over a 22-year relationship to the changing demands of upstream oil and gas. The prevailing cost challenges facing the industry requires us, once again, to up our game and explore innovative ways to help our customers reduce operating costs, without compromise to safety and efficiency. We look forward to working with TOTAL to co-innovate ways of maximising SAP and addressing these challenges”.
