YPF hits shale gas in Vaca Muerta

Argentina’s YPF said it made a shale gas discovery in Vaca Muerta region in the province of Neuquen. According to YPF, the La Ribera x-1 well is located about 25 kilometers from the town of Añelo. Argentina’s YPF said it made a shale gas discovery in Vaca Muerta region in the province of Neuquen.

According to YPF, t he La Ribera x-1 well is located about 25 kilometers from the town of Añelo.

Initial tests indicate high potential for gas production, YPF said in a statement issued on Sunday.

The La Ribera x-1 well is now producing about 100,000 cbm per day, with gas output being dispatched via the Rincón del Mangrullo pipeline.
