Monday afternoon, Bladt Industries started the loadout of the first four finished transition pieces for the Sandbank offshore wind farm project in cooperation with Bilfinger.

During Monday night, the first two of the transition pieces were lifted from the harbour to the awaiting barge, and Tuesday morning the last two transition pieces were lifted onto the barge. The 72 transition pieces that Bladt will fabricate for this project weigh 392 tonnes each and have a diameter of 5.5 meters.

The transition pieces were properly fastened and readied for the journey to their final destination off the German coast in the North Sea. Prior to its arrival in Aalborg, the barge had picked up the four monopiles from EEW in Rostock.

At Bladt’s upending site in Aalborg, the next transition pieces are in the process of being finished / right next to the row of transition pieces for the Gode Wind project. On this project, another loadout was started Tuesday afternoon after the transition pieces for Sandbank had been sent on their way.
