Power and energy industry group, the Scottish Energy Association® (SEA) has celebrated its official launch at a re-brand event yesterday evening in Glasgow.

Taking place at the University of Strathclyde’s newly developed building, the Technology and Innovation Centre, the event marks the reveal of the association’s new identity following months of anticipation within the energy industry.

Formerly known as the Industrial and Power Association, the organisation has re-branded to the Scottish Energy Association® to become the go-to membership organisation for the energy industry in Scotland, dedicated to strengthening commercial ties and ensuring the best possible opportunities for businesses involved across the energy supply chain.

SEA represents a number of the industry’s leading players, assisting all members in offering them an informed voice across the industry on energy matters to legislators, regulators, decision makers and the media.

SEA will also focus on making sure that consumers are fully informed as to what the industry is doing, striving to break down energy matters and policies so that they are fully understood and communicated properly to both members and consumers.

The re-brand comes after many months of planning and research by the directors at Scottish Energy Association® who expect that the new identity will assist in making the organisation the go-to association for all energy matters related to Scotland.

Chief-Executive at the Scottish Energy Association®, Hector Grant , said: “Among our services, we organise excellent networking events, conferences and supply customised and valuable market intelligence information for all our members. Our plan is to reach more energy professionals who will benefit from these and deliver new services to be introduced by the Scottish Energy Association®.”

“We will now move forward, promoting the new name and introducing new services to supplement our current highly regarded activities while welcoming new members into the SEA. The hard work involved in the launch will continue and we look forward to raising the profile of SEA both here in Scotland, the UK and internationally.”
