SCT&E LNG, developer of a $9.25 billion LNG export project in the U.S., said its representatives returned from France where the company attended the World Gas Conference in Paris.
Exhibiting for the first time at the conference, SCT&E LNG Chairman Greg Michaels explained the current state and future role of LNG and promoted the benefits of U.S. natural gas, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
“The energy industry is undergoing a revolution without precedent. We believe liquefied natural gas is the fuel choice of the future with the greatest potential for growth worldwide,” Michaels said. “Growing economies are faced with the great challenge of fueling development in an environmentally sustainable way. LNG is a powerful solution to this challenge and can provide these countries with a clean-burning, more affordable fuel source.”
SCT&E LNG recently announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding with a sizable U.S. upstream natural gas supplier for its LNG project on Monkey Island, Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
The agreement provides enough natural gas to enable the company to produce at least 4 million tons per annum of the chilled gas.
“ An added component to what makes SCT&E LNG different than other LNG companies is that we now offer a fixed, low-price , and long-term option for our upstream natural gas ,” Michaels concluded.
