CARIS, a developer of geospatial software, recently participated in an Underwater Technology Seminar in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The three-day seminar was jointly organized by Unique Group, Bayanat, Kongsberg Maritime and CARIS.

As part of the seminar Kongsberg Maritime and Unique conducted hydrographic survey operations with an EM 2040C and the acquired data was then processed in the latest version of CARIS HIPS and SIPS 9.0 highlighting its many new features and tools.

The Kongsberg EM 2040C is a shallow water multibeam echosounder based on the EM 2040 technology, an ideal tool for any high resolution mapping and inspection applications.

The post processing of the multibeam echosounder data was presented by using the CARIS HIPS and SIPS software.

The HIPS and SIPS software is a comprehensive bathymetric, seafloor imagery and water column data processing software that enables the simultaneous processing of multibeam, backscatter, side scan sonar, LiDAR and single beam data.

Supporting over 40 industry standard sonar data formats, HIPS and SIPS can easily integrate into any workflow.
