French energy company Engie, formerly known as GDF Suez, has appointed Cedric Osterrieth as new Managing Director (CEO) of ENGIE’s Exploration & Production affiliate in Norway – GDF SUEZ E&P Norge.

He joined the ENGIE Group in 2000, and since 2011 he has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the E&P business unit, holding financial oversight on the Group’s E&P activities. He will take over his new position as of 1 August, 2015.

“I am looking forward to heading up ENGIE’s E&P affiliate in Norway” , Osterrieth says. “I am impressed with the company’s performance and hope that we will continue to develop its activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in a sustainable manner”.

The ENGIE Group has launched “the Enterprise Project” to restructure and reorganize the Group for tomorrow´s energy world, and Maria Moræus Hanssen has been asked to lead this project for the global business unit Exploration & Production. Consequently she will relocate to Paris during summer.

“His solid background and varied experience singled Cedric out as my successor,” Maria Moræus Hanssen says. “I look forward to his contribution to the company and will give him my full support in his new role”.

Moræus Hanssen will continue to be involved in the E&P activity in Norway as she has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Norwegian E&P affiliate following Jean-Marie Dauger’s retirement.
