Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition and conference, Seawork International 2015, has opened its doors again for the eighteenth year running.

Over 600 exhibitors have filled the halls, quayside and marina to the gunnels at the ABP Port of Southampton, with over 10,000 products and more than 7,350 visitors due on site over the three days of the exhibition.

Seawork spans three exhibition halls, has extensive quayside space, and has 62 vessels berthed in the Seawork marina. Seawork’s Dive Tank is holding a number of interesting demonstrations, including helmet testing, and pipe manifold operations.

On day one alone, more than 40 new products will make their global debut at Seawork. This year has seen over 50 entries in the hotly contested Innovations Showcase, where products and solutions launched in the past 12 months compete to win the acclaimed Spirit of Innovation trophy. The trophy is awarded to the overall winner of the Innovations Showcase at the Seawork Awards Receptions held on the first night of Seawork.

Inward VIP delegations from China are scheduled to arrive, who will be looking to develop business relations with European firms as well as explore procurement opportunities.

Visitors will explore the halls, experience the demos, and expand their knowledge; highlights include the unveiling of the newly completely super-workboat, ‘London Titan’, the latest MLS fuel purification system offered by Landau UK (Q12), helmet trial demonstrations in the DiveTank, and a new Servowatch (A283) integrated vessel management system with awardwinning WINMON software, amongst many others.

Seawork has expanded its online presence, with interesting exhibitor news articles at its website, as well as fully utilising its social media presence. The 3Si Seawork Maritime Professional of the Year nominations is being solely run online and is fiercely contested by the finalists who are all vying to become the winner.

The event also hosts the Seawork Conference which is held on site, on-board the Ocean Scene vessel which is running seminars covering all aspects of topical discussion. Visitors and exhibitors have welcomed the free-to-attend sessions, with topics ranging from wind farm procurement, to safety, to crew comfort.

The event concludes on Thursday.
