Esvagt, an offshore rescue and support vessel operator, has held a naming ceremony yesterday, June 18, 2015, for one of their Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRV), Esvagt Chastine.
The vessel is the fifteenth C-type ERRV in Esvagt’s fleet. Its godmother was Gitte Hansen.
According to the company, Esvagt Chastine, constructed at ASL Shipyard in Singapore, will start its contract with Lundin on June 20. It will be on standby and fire fighting alert for Edvard Grieg production platform in the Norwegian North Sea.
Esvagt says that its C-type ERRVs are designed and approved to operate worldwide. Number fourteen in Esvagt’s C-type ERRV fleet, Esvagt Cornelia , was named in December 2014.
Edvard Grieg is an oil field in block 16/1 in production licence PL338, in the North Sea, 180 kilometres west of Stavanger, operated by Lundin Petroleum.
The field consists of a platform resting on the seabed (steel jacket), with a full process facility, dry wellheads with external jack-up drilling and living quarters. Planned production start-up is in the fourth quarter of 2015.
