Chinese JV to build LNG import terminal

China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s Gas & Power group informed that it has signed a deal with Huainan Mining Industry to set up a joint LNG venture.

China National Offshore Oil Corporation’s Gas & Power group informed that it has signed a deal with Huainan Mining Industry to set up a joint LNG venture.

According to the signed cooperation agreement, the joint venture would build an LNG receiving terminal with 3 million tons of LNG capacity in Wuhu in the Anhui province.

The company added in its statement, that the project would be built in phases with phase 1, which would have a capacity of 1 mtpa, coming into operation in 2017.

The second phase, to be operational in 2020, would add another 500,000 tons while the full planned capacity of 3 mtpa would be reached in 2030.
