Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an order granting Jordan Cove’s LNG the air contaminant discharge permit based on land use compatibility findings.
DEQ said in its filing that the proposed LNG export facility and the South Dunes power plant comply with the standards set by the Clean Air Act.
This is the first state-regulated permit Jordan Cove LNG has received.
The project’s initial request from March 2013 was denied as it was deemed incomplete due to not including a signed Land Use Compatibility Statement. DEQ informed in its filing that, after Jordan Cove LNG submitted an approved LUCS, the land use complies with wide-state planning goals prior to granting a site certificate.
The proposed Jordan Cove LNG project in Coos Bay, Oregon will have a 6 MTPA capacity produced by four liquefaction trains with 1.5 MTPA of LNG capacity each.
