NPD: Norway’s oil production drops in May

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has informed that preliminary production figures for May 2015 show an average daily production of about 1 866 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate.

This is 85 000 barrels per day (about 0.4 percent) less than in April 2015 . Total gas sales were about 8.7 billion Sm3, which is 0.9 GSm3 more than previous month.

The NPD reports that the average daily liquid production in May was: 1 510 000 barrels of oil, 325 000 barrels of NGL and 31 000 barrels of condensate. The oil production is 2.4 percent above the oil production in May last year.

The oil production is about 1.0 percent above the NPD’s prognosis for the month.

The total petroleum production for the first five months in 2015 is about 94.0 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 37.1 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 9.2 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 47.7 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is 2.0 MSm3 o.e. higher than for the same period in 2014.

Final production figures from April 2015 show an average daily production of about 1.573 million barrels of oil, 0.378 million barrels of NGL and condensate and a total of 7.8 billion Sm3 saleable gas production.
