AGRI LNG may become part of Southern Gas Corridor

The energy ministers of AGRI LNG project member states came together in Bucharest to discuss the positions of member countries in realization of the project, final results of feasibility study, and financing opportunities of the project.

The energy ministers of AGRI LNG project member states met in Bucharest to discuss the positions of member countries in realization of the project, final results of feasibility study, and financing opportunities of the project.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, SOCAR informed in a statement that the parties discussed Penspen’s feasibility study on the AGRI LNG project that was presented during the meeting.

Joe Murphy, BP’s Vice President Southern Corridor for Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey region , stated that AGRI LNG project should be viewed as an additional component of the Southern Gas Corridor and pointed out the importance of preparing the legal, economic and technical documents for effective realizations of the project.

Shareholders in the AGRI LNG project are SOCAR, GOGC of Georgia, Romanian Romgaz and MVM of Hungary all with an equal 25% stake. The AGRI LNG project is aimed to supply LNG from the Caspian region through Georgian coast of Black Sea to Romania, Hungary and other Eastern European countries in the project.
