Sabella Installs Its D10 Tidal Turbine off Ushant Island

Yesterday, June 25, Sabella installed its D10 tidal turbine off Ushant Island, France. The company told Tidal Energy Today that it will now work on connecting the turbine to the island. Sabella submerged the turbine in Fromveur Passage, where it will stand alone to show its performance for one year.

Yesterday, June 25, Sabella installed its D10 tidal turbine off Ushant Island, France. The company told Tidal Energy Today that it will now work on connecting the turbine to the island.

Sabella submerged the turbine in Fromveur Passage, where it will stand alone to show its performance for one year.

The cable laid between Ushant and the installation site will connect the tidal turbine to the electricity grid. The D10 will produce its first kilowatts and will be connected to the network by the end of July, Brittany Region website said.

According to Tidal Energy Today , Sabella also plans to set up two to three D15 turbines in Fromveur Passage in 2018/2019.
