For more than a century, B.C.’s economy has been rooted in natural resources. Today, B.C. is Canada’s second-largest natural gas producing province.

Shell, KOGAS, Mitsubishi and PetroChina are working together to design, build and operate the proposed LNG Canada project.

The LNG Canada facility will be located on 350-400 hectares of land in the industrial area of Kitimat at the mouth of the Douglas Channel.

In order to receive LNG carriers between 140,000 and 265,000 cubic meters, the proposed deep-water port will need to be dredged. This will ensure that waterways are wide and deep enough for the safe passage of vessels entering and exiting the proposed LNG Canada terminal.

The LNG Canada has just released a video named “ Disposal at Sea (DAS) Permit ” giving more facts on the process and the permit which is required for disposal of dredge material out at sea.
