ExxonMobil-operated Papua New Guinea LNG export facility has launched a tender to sell a single cargo of liquefied natural gas.

Sources told Reuters that the cargo is set for delivery on September 4-5 with bids due on Monday.

The PNG LNG project, with the capacity of 6.9 million tons per year, commenced production of liquefied natural gas in April 2014 and delivered its first cargo of LNG in May 2014, ahead of schedule.

In mid-June, the project located near Port Moresby dispatched its 100th LNG cargo to one of its customers, Japan’s Tokyo Electric Power.
