Energia del Pacifico launches LNG supply tender

Energía del Pacífico said it is launching an international tender process to contract long-term supplies of up to 0.5 mtpa of LNG for its Power Generating Project in Acajutla, Republic of El Salvador.

Energía del Pacífico said it is launching an international tender process to contract long-term supplies of up to 0.5 mtpa of LNG for its power generating project in Acajutla, Republic of El Salvador.

Energía del Pacífico was awarded a 355 MW power purchase agreement with the local electricity distribution companies in El Salvador for a term of 20 years, and is building an LNG receiving terminal and a natural gas-fired power plant of up to 380 MW in the Port of Acajutla, with commercial operation date scheduled for 2018, the company informed in a statement.

The tender process will be supervised by SIGET (Superintendencia General de Electricidad y Telecomunicaciones of the Republic of El Salvador) and is requesting DES LNG supplies starting in 2019, for a 12 years term.
