The United States National Marine Fisheries Service filed a request with FERC for additional information to initiate consultation on the Jordan Cove LNG export terminal and Pacific Connector gas pipeline project.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asked NMFS to review the regulator’s biological assessment of the effects of the proposed project on species that are listed under the Endangered Species Act, stands in the filing.

In terms of the ESA responsibility, understanding the short-term effects of the action is essential to complete the survival part of the analysis, and information regarding long-term effects is essential for understanding the recovery consequences of the project located in Coos Bay, Oregon, NMFS said.

The proposed Jordan Cove LNG project will have a 6 mtpa capacity produced by four liquefaction trains with 1.5 mtpa of LNG capacity each.
