Engie , formerly GDF Suez said it has concluded a memorandum of understanding with Pemex to explore the development of LNG projects on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
The two companies agreed to explore the development of infrastructures to transport gas via pipeline, as well as the possibility of executing a joint venture to commercialize natural gas, Engie said in a statement.
In addition, Engie and Pemex will analyze plans for the development of efficient energy and efficient cogeneration projects aimed at executing possible joint ventures or association agreements, in particular a cogeneration plant located in the northeast of Mexico. In April last year, Engie already signed a memorandum of understanding with Pemex, to develop natural gas and other energy projects.
Engie also signed deals with the CFE and Cenagas of Mexico to collaborate on natural gas and power development projects in Mexico.
With the Federal Electricity Commission, the agreement involves exchanging technological knowledge, experiences and the best practices for environmentally-friendly developments in the natural gas and electricity industries, the company said in a statement.
