Marine Power Systems (MPS), a Swansea-based wave energy developer, has become a member of Ocean Energy Europe.

Marine Power Systems joined a growing list of industry representatives uniting behind a common strategy for industrialising the ocean energy sector, MPS’ press release reads.

With Marine Power Systems recently joining as a member, together with Mojo Maritime and Wavepower, Ocean Energy Europe exceeded 100 members .

Gareth Stockman , Managing Director of Marine Power Systems, said:

“ Joining Ocean Energy Europe as a member shows Marine Power Systems’ commitment to supporting the progress of ocean energy as a renewable energy source and the sector overall.

“Ocean Energy Europe encompasses the crucial role ocean energy plays within the EU and its importance to the future of the energy sector. We are proud to be a part of this body of professionals representing the sector and look forward to presenting our latest developments at the Ocean Energy Europe conference later this year.”

MPS is currently in the process of designing, manufacturing and testing a quarter scale model prototype of WaveSub device that will be deployed at FaBTest, a test area situated 2.8 km2 within Falmouth harbor, later this year.

Ocean Energy Europe is a Brussels-based industry group representing the renewable ocean energy sector in Europe.
