Indonesia’s $2.8 billion Donggi-Senoro LNG project has shipped its first cargo of the chilled gas on August 2, Mitsubishi Corp, which holds about 45 percent of the project, said.
The first LNG cargo from Donggi-Senoro has been shipped to the Arun LNG receiving terminal operated by the Indonesian state-owned oil and gas enterprise, Pertamina.
The second cargo is scheduled to be shipped around mid-August.
DSLNG consists of a single-train facility with a production capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum. It is located in Central Sulawesi State, Sulawesi island.
According to Mitsubishi, it took 4.5 years to construct the liquefaction plant, which started operations on 24th June.
DSLNG will deliver the chilled gas based on long-term contracts to supply 1 million tonnes per annum to Chubu Electric Power, 300,000 tonnes per year to Kyushu Electric Power, and 700,000 tonnes per year to Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas).
Beside Mitsubishi, other partners in the Donggi-Senoro project are Kogas of South Korea, Indonesia’s Medco Energi Internasional and Pertamina.
