A part of a wing recently discovered on Réunion Island has been confirmed to be from Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Malaysia’s prime minister announced today.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts has conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed MH370,” Prime Minister Najib Razak said in a press conference.
French investigators are yet to give a press conference on their investigation and confirm the announcement of Malaysian prime minister that Réunion debris is from missing Boeing 777 that vanished last year.
Malaysia Airlines jet, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board, was speculated to have crashed into the southern Indian but there was no real proof. “We now have physical evidence that, as I announced on 24th March last year, flight MH370 tragically ended in the southern Indian Ocean,” Najib said.
