The United States Energy Department informed that it has issued a final authorization to American LNG Marketing to export LNG to countries that do not have a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.

According to the order, American LNG is authorized to export LNG up to the equivalent of 0.008 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas for a period of 20 years from the liquefaction facility located near Medley, Florida in Miami-Dade County using approved ISO LNG containers.

American LNG said that commercial operation of the Hialeah facility is scheduled to commence this month, ahead of the schedule originally estimated in its application.

The company anticipates that the Hialeah facility will have a total production capacity of 100,000 gallons of LNG per day, or 8.26 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with a storage capacity of approximately 270,000 gallons.

Liquefied natural gas from the facility will be primarily sold for use as a transportation fuel by both the railroads and motor vehicles in the U.S., the Caribbean and Central America. American LNG also intends to sell LNG for use in electric generation facilities.

American LNG is a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in New York.
