Argentinian company, Enarsa, cancelled its tender looking for two cargoes of liquefied natural gas for September deliveries.

Citing a source, Platts informed that the company does not expect further supplies will be needed, as demand for gas in Argentina has declined during this year.

Temperatures in the cold season spanning from May to September have been warmer than normal.

Indec, the national statistics agency revealed that June gas demand fell 5.8% from 127.6 million cubic meters per day in 2014 to 120.2 mcm in 2015.

According to the canceled tender, the cargoes were destined for the Escobar floating regasification terminal near Buenos Aires.

Local sources revealed that Petrobras of Brazil, Swiss trading house Trafigura, Spain’s Natural Gas Fenosa and Glencore were interested in bidding to supply the cargoes.
