Cleantec Infra, an Indian company involved in mechanized cleaning of waterways, has just posted a video about the Mumbai Nallahs Dredging Program, undertaken by an amphibious dredging machine.
The amphibious dredger, produced by Aquarius Systems, USA, is a highly unique machine designed for use in open nallahs and narrow canals, capable of floating in water and soft marshy wetlands where normal excavator with tracks or tyres bog down.
It has a 22′ reach and can rotate 360 degrees infinitely. The stabilizer wheels provide flotation when extended, and act as stabilizers when positioned under the dredger.
The excavator also uses its wheels to load itself on and off of a trailer and can crawl down steep gradients of nallahs.
