The project, which covers 2500 square kilometers, is, according to BGP, an extremely challenging since the survey will cover most of inhabitant areas of Kuwait city and Kuwait bay with varied topographies intertwined by densely populated metropolis, desert, muddy wetland, uninhibited district, along with deep and shallow water areas.

Multiple types of seismic sources used in this project will be vibroseis, explosives, shallow and deep air gun sources.

The 3D Seismic Survey – Kuwait Bay Acquisition contract was signed on December 1, 2014, and it was the first ever 3D Seismic survey acquisition awarded by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
