The LNG-powered coastal tanker Sefarina performed a bunkering operation in the Port of Moerdijk on August 15.

The vessel was tanked from the quay by special LNG tank trucks of Schenk Tanktransport with the chilled gas supplied from Gate terminal in Rotterdam, port authority informed in a statement.

The Port of Moerdijk has been offering the possibility of bunkering LNG for sea and inland waterway ships since December last year.

Inland waterway vessels already make regular use of this bunkering facility.

The Sefarina is the first sea-going vessel to bunker at the Port of Moerdijk and in the Rotterdam area, according to the statement.
