Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) has signed a shipbuilding order with local investment firm Xiamen Fuchuan Investment.
According to Chinese media, this would be XSI’s first wind turbine installation vessel. The contract also includes an option for additional vessel.
With a total length of 108.5 metres and width of 40.8 metres the vessel will be able to carry three sets of 5MW turbines or two sets of 7MW turbines.
Based in Xiamen, China, XSI builds container and multipurpose container vessels, car loading vessels as well as platform supply vessels and accommodation vessels.
