Bakker Sliedrecht has won a contract to upgrade obsolete inverter units, both the cutter and the winches, on board the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) cutter dredger Umm al Anbar in Abu Dhabi.

A team of Bakker’s engineers will use their knowledge and expertise from previous dredging projects to design the new inverters in such a fashion that the units will fit into the existing installation.

Because of this custom approach, NMDC does not have to invest in the replacement of entire new drive system for the cutter and winches, while benefiting from the advantages of new available technology.

A team of Service Engineers from Bakker Sliedrecht will install and commission the renewed inverters on board the cutter dredger in Abu Dhabi.
