Teekay informed a naming ceremony of NH3 carrier M/V Kaprijke was held at HHIC-Phil, Subic Shipyard, Philippines.

The vessel, which will enter the TGP-Exmar Joint Venture fleet, is the first of eight liquefied petroleum gas carriers to ever be built and delivered in the country, Teekay said in a statement.

Previously revealed in December 2012, Teekay LNG and Exmar entered into an agreement to create a 50/50 joint venture operating in the LPG carrier segment. The two companies agreed that the primary focus of the JV should be placed on the midsize gas carriers.
